April 20 reminders

Hello Marquette Academy Families, 

I hope that you all had a blessed and happy Easter and that you are enjoying your Spring Break. I wanted to reach out with a few updates and reminders as we prepare to return to our E-Learning next week.

Reminders: 

Scholarships- All MA Scholarships and the Hohner Scholarship applications are due today!! You can email all MA scholarships or mail them to the school. Please email all scholarships to mindy@marquetteacademy.net The Hohner Scholarship application MUST be mailed to the Regional Office of Education at 119 West Madison St Ottawa. 

E- Learning- We are currently scheduled to continue E-Learning from April 20th - April 30th. This could get extended as we await further instruction from the Governor. You will be notified as this information becomes available.

Grades and Attendance- Just a reminder that effective April 6, 2020 all assignments during E-Learning are now being graded. Also High School students are required to log into Teacherease daily and report their attendance. Students MUST log into Teacherease via their own account, they can not use their parents account. The attendance prompt is ONLY available on student accounts. If your child is having trouble accessing his or her Teacherease account please contact Mrs Rick or Mr Glade.  

Emails- Parents and students are highly encouraged to check your emails often as this is the primary means of contact and communication from faculty, staff and administration of the school. It is imperative that you regularly check your email for updates.

Friday, April 24, 2020- Spirit Day- MA Spirit Wear Day 

Grades PK-12 

All Academy Mass- Let's celebrate our faith together.  We encourage ALL of our students to take part in the online Ottawa Catholic Community daily mass at 9 am. You can access this mass as it is streamed live from the OCC website or Facebook page. 

Student catch up day- Students please contact your teacher(s) to set up a time to get help with specific areas of concern or to complete missing work. 

April and Early May Events Postponed or Cancelled:

  • The Sports Banquet is cancelled.
  • Prom- At this time Prom is postponed and will be rescheduled. We are currently working to determine a new date.
  • May Merriment is Postponed and has been rescheduled for Saturday August 1, 2020.  Please watch for more information to be released soon.
  • The Spring Musical is currently postponed.  
  • The Spalding Scholarship due date has been extended until April 31st.  
  • The Daddy Daughter Dance is cancelled.
  • The NHS induction ceremony is postponed at this time. A new date is to be determined.
  • The 8th Grade confirmation retreat is cancelled. 
  • First Communion is being rescheduled. The rescheduled dates are currently being determined and we will update you with this information as soon as possible. 
  • Confirmation is postponed and will be rescheduled.
